Formation and Antibacterial Activity of AlOOH/Ag Composite Coating on Macroporous α-Al2O3 Ceramics

In this study, the modification of macroporous α-Al2O3 ceramics with AlOOH nanostructures impregnated silver particles is carried out using bicomponent Al/Ag nanoparticles obtained by simultaneous electrical explosion Al and Ag wires. Nanoparticle suspension impregnation porous followed oxidation water shown to lead formation a continuous nanosheet coating on ceramic surface, releasing surface nanosheets in form individual sized 5–30 nm. Modified AlOOH/Ag nanostructures, pellets diameter 11 mm thickness 5 show 100% efficiency for purification from bacteria concentration 105 CFU/mL 7.5 min at flow rate 6.7 mL/min.
